UP Kapitas Lectures on Beauty and Cosmetic Surgery

UP Kabataang Pilosopo Tasyo (UP KaPiTas) organized a symposium entitled “Beauty at the doctors’ fingertips: on cosmetic surgery and beauty,” on January 28 at the Claro M. Recto Hall in Rizal Hall.

According to UP KaPiTas Academic Committee Head Ian Richard Cortez, the “purpose of the [symposium] is to delve into or examine the nature of beauty, the roles culture and media play in our conceptions of it, and the nature of cosmetic surgery and [ethical] issues pertaining thereto.”

UP KaPiTas invited cosmetic surgeon Dr Carlos Lasa, Aesthetics professor Perseville Mendoza and Bioethics professor Sarah Toledano as symposium speakers. ▪
