On a tunnel with our hand-held lamps,
We hold the world a glance at a time,
From lines of human carving on walls
We clutch tightly at the dark, defining.
Walking on unlit soil, nothing is solid:
Ourselves anchored on black opal seas
With every step, a lipless prayer.
