Ang Tale of Two Rallies

The truth of the gray matter naman kasi ay wala naman daw official. That day ay magkakaisa naman dapat ang kowntingencies na nagather ng CSSPSC ang mga local councils sa Quezon Hall at ng joint effort ng College of Law and College of Mass Communication faculties sa Malcolm Hall—e hindi. Epal kasi ang “lack of coordination” so, ayun, hindi sila nagmeet.

True enough. Noong nag-super 100-meter dash ako papuntang Malcolm Hall, tatlong speakers lang naabutan ko (Kayakung meron kayong nakitang tumatakbo noon na may dalang notebook, may kausap sa cellphone at haggard to the max, ako yun). How sad for me...

“There were no words to describe.”

“Kahit yung salitang ‘monster’ kulang.”

Off de Lampoon mode

Pulos WTF echos is happeneng in the world today ang drama ng Quezon Hall after magdasal, maglighter ng candle at magdagdag ng carbon emissions sa atmosphere ang mga students des CSSP, pero all for a good reason dahil DUH!

So friends and kapanalig sa Church of Chenebang, tigil muna tayo sa lampoon mode for one minute.

Soundbytes ng mga imfortant peeps sa indignation rally sa Quezon Hall (Ok, turning off lampoon mode, NOW!):

Gil Turingan, CSSPSC councilor: Noong isang araw, madaming kinilalang bayani, sina Manny Pacquiao at Efren Penaflorida.

Tin Borja, CSSPSC Rep to the University Student Council (USC), in a Christian prayer: We pray for justice not in the sense of an eye for an eye or a tooth for a tooth, but for the right, the noble and the good.

Ayshia Kunting, UP Lipunang Kasaysayan (UP LIKAS) alumna and 2008-2009 president, in a prayer to Allah: This massacre is not what Islam teaches. Killing one person is like killing all of mankind. May we have our long-sought peace and we ask for your forgiveness.

Oyie Javelosa, CSSPSC councilor: CSSP SC is at a lost of words for this barbarism. We demand immediate dismantling of private armies and paramilitary forces, challenge the administration to enforce the first of justice and call for all students to wear black to express their grief and support.

Statement from UP Alyansa: This is the time that defines us. Realize our roles as catalysts. Engage in meanigful interactions and open dialogues to discuss how to prevent (these events) to express solidarity and support for such deplorable acts.

Inna Morillo, Chair of School of Economics Student Council: No excuse for violence in whatever ideology. We urge government to act and not defend whoever (is responsible).

Sebastian Cruz, Councilor of College of Business Administration Student Council: We hope we can promise this will never happen in our generation.

CSSPSC Chair Jay Bagcal: May efforts not end in prayer. We should fight for the right to clean and honest elections as educated youth who knows the better leader and the better choice.

(Back to lampoon mode): Narinig ba nating lahat si Kuya Jay? So iactivate na ang mga peysbook and TWEET!er accounts. Ikalat na ang chismax na true to the bone sa mga detached sa sibilisasyon ng mass media. Go, go, go! ▪
